Will aprons even be 'in'...?
I found this dress for £26 in Portobello Market. It reminds me of Mrs Fox's dress in Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr. Fox crossed with Rapunzel's dress (via the bust) and with a dash of pre-Raphaelite (via the sleeves). The best part, though, is the lacy apron-type opening at the front. So many times I have whimsically fumbled through boxes of lace in Portobello, finding bonnets and aprons and wishing I could wear them as fashion accessories without being met by gawk-eyed passers-by. It is illogical to me that aprons are not part of casual accessorising. Well, this dress is the next best thing. I intend to start the Apron Revolution....
Tea-stained Victorian dress
Is it weird when the prospect of tea stains only adds to the allure of a dress? This vintage wedding dress connotes all sorts of lovely Carroll-esque daydreams of summer tea parties, floral china and fluffy bunnies, kinda like the Florence and the Machine video for Rabbit Heart, but preferably with Echo and the Bunnymen playing instead.
